Buy this stock now. It's time to buy at low price. Just short term downtrend due to recent oil price plunge. Oil price will recover and rally soon after OPEC meeting. The oil industry will continue to booming in the next 6-18 months. Thank You.

(fayeTan) - Oil & Gas Stock:SKPETRO - The best of times the worst of times
Author: fayeTan | Publish date: Thu, 18 Feb 2016, 03:35 PM

1. Everyone talks about oil price on a daily basis. It affects you and me, regardless whether you own oil and gas stocks or not. The reason is Malaysia income at the country level is linked to crude oil price. OK, all this info are pretty much covered by the mainstream media. I will go straight to why I will start a small exposure of my portfolio to Oil and Gas stock. In my case, I am choosing SKPETRO which is FBMKLCI stocks and the biggest proxy to Malaysia Oil and Gas industry.

2. The current situation of oil price is very much like Charles Dickens "A Tale of Two Cities". The famous novel written in 1859 starts with this "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness..."

3. Why is this the best of times? SKPETRO share price has declined 60% to ~RM2.00 from its peak of RM4.94 as of 23-Dec-2013. Depending on how you view oil price one or two years down the road, the current share price of around RM2.00 may be one of the lowest in history.

4. And why is this also the worst of times? The market is not stupid to selldown SKPETRO as Brent crude oil has tumbled 68% to ~USD35/barrel from USD110/barrel as of end-2013. With Brent crude oil at USD35/barrel, this is the worst of times for crude oil producers.

5. Start my 5% exposure to SKPETRO. I believe that the bottom of Brent crude oil is very near. It doesn't matter whether it is USD30 or USD20 per barrel as the bottom. Make sure the money that you use to buy SKPETRO can be locked in for 2 to 3 years. Let's compare this with the peak of USD140 per barrel and average of USD60 to USD70/barrel. In short... downside is 43% maximum and upside is between 70% to 100%.

6. Disclaimer: I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO BUY OR SELL. SKPETRO is an index linked stock and my blog is unlikely to move the share price. Foreign investors buy and sell this stock on a regular basis depending on Brent crude oil price movement. I don't have a Fair Value for this stock as my decision is based on the Upside vs Downside rule. As much as I try to estimate the share price movement, I have limited resources as I am not the management of SKPETRO and I am not an expert to forecast oil price movement. So treat this as informational piece. I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO BUY OR SELL

Skpetro ($2.17) has reacted positively to the recent rise of crude oil price.
It is a low risk buy.

Let's see the coming Q3 result to be released end of this month.
