your "....but divvy for 2011 a bit low compare to previous year...." is somewhat misleading.

plenitude had a bonus issue on 16/11/2010 at 1:1. for existing holders before this date, it meant that their holdings doubled, and at the same time the price and dps got halved.

so with that fact in mind, the two dps after that fateful date of bonus issue should worth 16 cents to existing holders, which was actually higher than the preceding year of 15 cents.

Hi all shareholders of Plenitude,

Many investors have lost interest in this property counter becos of its lacklustre price performance. One main reason being its low dividend altho it has a huge cash hoard in its kitty - purportedly used for increasing its landbank. The present market price is very much undervalued. I dont think the mgt is adding value to its shareholders if this situation persists. The counter is merely good as a sitting duck for major shareholders to to take this co private at below NAV offer price. In the end the minority s/holders will lose out. My concerns had been voiced out in the last AGM - hope the Board takes some action. Co also skipped a declaration of interim dividend in the last Qtr2 announcement of results - how disappointing.

I heard few of their projects completed with poor finishing. This is the reason why it's never in my list. I think HUAYANG or MAHSING is a better choice. smile

Believe Plenitude still a good counter as it has 300million cash on hand and plenty of land bank acquired decades ago. Also, the CAGR for every 5 yrs is in the range of 7% - 10%. Dividend also increasing since it first listed in Bursa.

Plenitude has two major potential profit contributors – property development and hospitality.

Property development has been contributing to the bottom line, even in the 2020/21 pandemic years. With the opening of the economy, I expect the contribution to be better. The property development segment was the major contributor to the Group’s performance.

Plenitude started as a property developer but in 2001 diversified into the hospitality business. Today the hospitality business is the largest segment in terms of the Total Capital Employed.  But it was not profitable since 2013.

The hospitality segment’s poor performance was due to competitive pressures. The Group had refurbished and rebranded the hotels to address this. At the same time, it had also focused on efficiency to improve the margins.

There are signs that gross profit margins are improving but the jury is still out on whether revenue will improve. The hospitality business is a turnaround case. Because of its size, the creation of shareholders’ value will depend on a successful turnaround.
