Dato Hazimah Binti Zainuddin (Dato Hazimah) is proficient in oversight role in corporate management, businesses turnaround, startups, new business development, and government liaison.
She is the Founder and Group Managing Director of Hyrax Oil Sdn. Bhd. (Hyrax Oil) which was established in 1991. Under her leadership, Hyrax Oil began producing a broad range of lubricants and now exports its petroleum products to over 35 countries worldwide.
Dato' Hazimah helms Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS) as Chairperson, a company owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc.) with the mandate to lead the development of Malaysias franchise industry.
She was the longest serving member of the Board of Directors of Trade Development Corporation ("MATRADE"), the Malaysian Government agency tasked by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry with promoting Malaysian exports to the world from 2003 to 2017. In January 2019, Dato' Hazimah re-joined the Board of Directors of MATRADE and is now Senior Board Member.
Dato' Hazimah was on the Board of The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), a government agency responsible for the promotion and development of the palm oil industry in Malaysia from November 2021 to December 2022, and was the Chairperson of Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) from September 2018 to July 2020.
She volunteers for several non-governmental organisations and is the Founder and Deputy Chairperson 1 of the Women Leadership Foundation (WLF), championing gender diversity in businesses as well as increasing women participation in the private and public sectors since 2021.
Dato' Hazimah has received numerous entrepreneurship honours as a pioneering woman entrepreneur among Malaysia's elite women leaders, including Ernst & Young's Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2002 and the SME Women Entrepreneur Award 2003 by the Small Medium Industry Association of Malaysia (SMI) and the Commonwealth Women Entrepreneur Award in 2018. |
